About

K Hanes was founded in 2018 by North Carolina native Katherine Hanes. After learning to sew, Katherine remembered the beautiful block print fabrics she loved on a visit to India years ago and started making table linens with them and giving them to friends as gifts. A few month later, she started selling them at the Durham Farmer’s Market and the rest is history.

The collection is inspired by travel, getting out of your comfort zone, and appreciating the discoveries you make along the way. We hope you use your K Hanes linens every day not only to add beauty to your home, but to remind you the value of a truly handmade product.

We work directly with companies in India that employ artisans who have been hand block printing cottons for generations. The block print process begins with the artist carving the designs into teak wood blocks before they print onto the fabrics using vegetable dyes. Because each piece of fabric is printed by hand, no two are alike which we like for table linens as the prints are perfectly imperfect and meant to be used. All KHanes products are sewn in North Carolina.
